Our Mission

Syracuse Bakers Expo exists to amplify small businesses and individual bakers who are ready to grow, collaborate, and inspire the Central New York community.

The Expo offers a platform for makers to showcase their craft, connect with new customers, and build momentum through shared resources and mentorship.

How the Expo Began

Syracuse city councilor Rita Paniagua and Trita Treatz owner Sherita Semple created the Bakers Expo after witnessing firsthand how the pandemic disrupted storefronts and livelihoods across Central New York.

With support made possible by a federal grant awarded to CNY Arts to help rebuild the Syracuse creative community, they developed a gathering where local bakers could regain visibility, rebuild operations, and access new audiences.

Supporting the Baking Community

From its launch to the upcoming 2026 gathering, the Expo continues to expand its reach, drawing more attendees, families, and aspiring bakers each year.

Programming emphasizes inclusive growth—encouraging participants to share knowledge, celebrate heritage flavors, and collaborate on new business opportunities that strengthen the Syracuse food economy.
